Leeser, Isaac and Kursheedt, Gershom. New Orleans, LA, A four page letter written by Gershom Kursheedt in New Orleans to Isaac Leeser in Philadelphia. In the letter, Kursheedt outlines his secretive plans to have Judah Touro's remains brought back to Newport, Rhode Island for burial. This letter goes into great detail regarding the funeral, including the required length and style of the speakers as well as the prohibition of a public procession in New York City. It also speaks about funds that should go to Leeser's proposed Educational Society ($20,000) but will not be forth coming unless Leeser takes legal action
