Colt pistol, cased model 1849, serial no. 161404. This Colt pistol and box belonged to famed Jewish naval captain Jonas P. Levy. Provenance: Owned at Monticello by Jefferson Levy and later given to Thomas L. Rhodes with other Levy items. By descent in the Rhodes family then purchased by Joseph Greenberger and later sold to the Deanne and Arnold Kaplan Foundation.
