Ledger recording the financial transactions of New York textile and mercantile firm Wright & Young from 6 July 1757 to 19 February 1759. Daniel Wright is the first personal account listed after Cash Account (p. 1) and John Young also appears frequently (initially, p. 14); Wright & Young appears as an entity in the entries for some shipping voyages (for example, p. 231). The items bought and sold are types of textiles (calico, multiple types of lawn, nankeen, multiple kinds of linen, silk, damask, cambric, satin) and sundries (buttons, thread, needles, knee garters, handkerchiefs, gloves, stockings, shoes, buckles, blankets, ribbon, paper, spices, tableware). Jewish customers in this volume include Abraham Isaac Abrahams (p. 63), Emanuel Abrahams (p. 171), Israel Joseph (p. 314), Michael Levy (Miller Place, Long Island, p. 181), Henry Mordecai (p. 298), Samuel Moses (Southampton, p. 20) Joseph Pinto (p.5), Jacob Pinto (New Haven, p. 11), Sarah Pinto (p. 33), Philip Samuel (p. 298), Ezekiel and Levy Solomons (Albany, p. 121), and Isaac Solomons (p. 68). Other customers are both men and women with English or Dutch family names, and places of residence other than New York City noted are Albany, Flushing, Goshen, Oyster Bay, Southampton, Success (Long Island), Wethersfield, and Windham, New York; New Brunswick, Rahway, and Shrewsbury, New Jersey; and Darby, Enfield, Hartford, Norwich, and Stratford, Connecticut. Trading voyages are noted to Bristol and London in England; Jamaica and Santo Domingo (now in the Dominican Republic) in the Caribbean; Halifax in Canada; and Newbern, North Carolina.
