Description:
Statutes of the cathedral chapter in Toul. Also contains an inspeximus by the chapter, 14 January 1650 (f. 76r-77r); an excerpt from the registers of the chapter, 18 February 1695 (f. 77v-78v); Memoire des divers fondations de messes, 1635 (f. 82r-87r); and a table of contents for the statutes (f. 88v). Folios 79-81 are ruled but blank. A notarial note at the end is dated 2 May 1772 (f. 88v).

(f. 76r) ad polia episcopatus aut registra sua cum in illis nussum habeamus interesse.; Collation: Parchment and paper, ii (contemporary paper) + 88 + vii (contemporary paper); 1-11⁸; Quire 11 is paper (f. 82-87) with outer leaves of parchment (f. 81, 88); 1-88; contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto. Signatures on quires 1-11 are given letters A-L, lower center recto of the first leaf of each quire. Link to collation model at end of record.; Script: Written in a bâtarde script in the hand of Nicolaus le Sane (f. 1r-76r), with later additions in a cursive script (f. 76r-88v).; Decoration: Red initials throughout; space for miniature(?) and initial left blank (f. 1r).; Binding: 15th-century French roll-tooled and stamped brown calfskin.; Origin: Written in Toul (France), 1497-1772 (Zacour-Hirsch).; This may be the earliest extant complete manuscript of the statutes.
