Nov. 7, 1765, issue no. 1924, of the Pennsylvania gazette, printed at Philadelphia by David Hall and Benjamin Franklin; without date, number, masthead, or imprint. On Oct. 31, 1765, the publishers announced the suspension of the Gazette in opposition to the provisions of the Stamp Act which required that newspapers be printed on imported, stamped paper. By issuing sheets without the characteristic appearence of the newspaper they were able to satisfy the subscribers while protecting the firm from legal repercussions.; Text in two columns; printed area measures 36.4 x 21.4 cm.; Broadside.
