Description:
Unfinished volume of medical, culinary, domestic, and social advice written by Julie-Adélaïde Porlier de Rubelles, marquise de Lauris, for Louise Aglaé, her second daughter and fourth child, who was eight years old at the time. Many of the medical remedies are focused on pregnancy, childbirth, and children, and they are written in a narrative style, rather than as recipes. Two leaves are cut out after the text breaks off (after p. 153), and roughly the last third of the volume is left blank.
