Photographer's note: Turkey is still a country where people have time for the simple pleasures of life, and one of them is card playing. On any given Sunday afternoon at the Horozlu Casino of Büyükada there is always a friendly game of Relans or Konken underway. The ladies like to entertain each other every now and then with a song in Judæo/Spanish. (They also asked me to mention that not all Turkish Jewish ladies play cards!)
