Notes:
Two men--one on a camel and the other standing at the side.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description in French and English. The English translation: "We only find the camel with one hump in Syria. The Bedouins use it to ride for long journeys in the desert but more especially as a beast of burden. The camel, who is cross-grained by nature, grumbles when he is loaded. In order to pacify him, the drivers are in the habit of ostensibly taking off a light package which has been put on over and above the usual load, and this laughably small reduction of weight suffices to quieten the animal who again becomes grave and silent." The initials "B+P SC" are printed at the right. Writing at the bottom left has been blacked out.; The photograph was not catalogued by Lazard--it was catalogued at LKCAJS.; Condition: Good
