Description:

Treatise on mercy, addressed to Jacobus Guicciardinus. Cynthius includes quotations and selections from various authors, including Augustine and Ambrose, and two pages in Greek taken from On wealth and poverty by St. John Chrysostom (f. 10r-v), followed by Martial's epigram, "Extra fortunam est, quicquid donatur amicis; Quas dederis, solas semper habebis opes." The treatise is preceded by an epigram of three distichs in Latin and is followed by ten lines of Greek.
