Several two and three-story stone buildings are near the top of a terraced hill. At the bottom of the hill there appears to be a garden.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description in French: "Le Carmel, fondée en 1875, par Mlle Berthe de Saint-Cricq, est l'ensemble des constructions à gauche de la photographie.--Au premier plan, la chapelle, très simple a l'extérieur, mais vrai bijou à l'intérieur.--Derrière la chapelle, le couvent des Sœurs est bâti en forme circulaire pour rappeler la tour de garde que la famille de David possédait à Bethléem. La fondatrice a aussi fondé et doté une residence d'aumôniers qui fut confiée aux Pères du Sacré-Cœur de Bétharram.--C'est l'établissement que l'on voit à droite de la photographie.-- Les Pères ont profité de leur vaste résidence pour y appeler les jeunes étudiants de leur Congrégation."
