Begins with events from the Gospels and Acts; includes notes on non-Christian authors such as Statius; on Roman emperors, particularly as they play a role in Christian history; on Popes, on early church fathers and saints, on Church councils, including Niceae; on the fall of Rome; monastic orders; on the Saracens taking Jerusalem; astronomical observations; on the Crusades; military events in Italy; famines and plagues; and Italian literary history, including Dante and Petrarch.
