Notes:
A group of men and women are standing in a clearing surrounded by trees. They appear to be pilgrims.; The photograph was originally housed in a burlap-covered box which was decorated with crewelwork with symbols and borders on four sides and the lid. The names "Bethlehem," "Bethanie," "Nazar[eth]," and "Jerusalem" each appear on one of the four sides. A pamphlet entitled "Souvenirs Photographiques d'un Pélerinage du Pénitence en Terre-Sainte par M. l'abbé Fromet, curé d'Angé (Loir-et-Cher)" and a list of the mounted photographs accompanies the XBD collection. No title appears on the matte or on the photograph. A handwritten "13" on the matte refers to the number in the pamphlet.; Condition: Good; some fading and some foxing of the matte
