Wilhelm (or William) Hertzel (also spelled Hartzel or Hartzell) died in 1900. His parents are probably to be identified with Abraham Hertzel (1782-1856) and his wife Hanna (née Felman; 1789-1848). The minister of baptism is Rev. Elizabeth's parents are probably to be identified with Jonathan Jones (1784-1866) and his wife Elizabeth (1791-1866) and her godparents possibly with Georg (or Johann Georg) Daub (1788-1867) and his wife Elizabeth (née Groff; 1793-1872). Rev. Georg (or Johann Georg) Röller (1775-1840) served at Indianfield (now Little Zion) Lutheran Church in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pa. from 1798 until his death; he was suceeded by Rev. Engelbert Peixoto (ca. 1802-1871) who served at Indianfield from 1841-1864.; Kaplan Collection copy has on third blank leaf following last printed leaf 19th-century ms. biographical inscription concerning Elizabeth and Wilhelm Hertzel ("Wilhelm : Hertzel : und Elizabetha : Johns : bei= de haben : Sieh : In : den Ehestand : begeben am : 16:ten Jenner : 1848. beÿ Johann Andareas Strassberger : Prediger und zeugten folgende Kinder."), followed by a list of four of their children in red ink with note on their birthplace in dark ink ("1.)
