Description:
Collection of 298 veterinary recipes (1-296 numbered), many for horses, some for cows and dogs, and a few for people, referred to as Christians, followed by a table of drugs used by farriers, listed with their uses and prices (p. 71-79). Nine notes are laid in, two prescriptions dated 21 August 1788 for Alice Murphy and Alice Murphet (both likely Alice Murfit of Cambridgeshire, 1757-1842, identified by Dean Cooke) and seven additional remedies or fragments of remedies, one of which is marked, "Entered in the Book 219," and added to the remedy listed under that number (p. 51).
