Manuscript is used for public or private recitation or prayer and worship (pūjā), venerating and praising a thousand names associated with the Hindu deity Śiva. Manuscript is part of a larger work known as the Śivarahasya. Presented as a discourse between Hara (Śiva) and his son Kumāra (known also as Kārttikeya). Originally contained two paintings, which have been cut out from the front (f. 1) and back (f. 13) folios.
