Notes:
Two women are seated in front of a painted background. One woman holds a pipe.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description in French and English. The English translation: "The Bedouin women, who are very finely moulded, have large well formed eyes but a large nose and mouth and rather thick lips. They have a very dignified bearing; their dreamy faces become wonderfully animated when engaged in one of their favourite dances such as the 'sword dance'. They wear a robe of blue or black cotton, fastened round the waist with a cord and upon their heads a handkerchief, black for the married women, and red for the young girls. They smoke a long pipe or a naguileh like the men. Their long floating hair is intermingled with little pieces of gold or silver which tinkle against their shoulders when they move quickly."; The photograph was not catalogued by Lazard--it was catalogued at LKCAJS.; Condition: Good
