Catchwords on last leaf of gatherings 1-13, lower right verso. Link to collation model at end of record.; Layout: Written in 3 columns of 28-39 lines; 2 narrow columns on the left, which contain single letters or abbreviations probably referring to gender and part of speech, and the main column containing dictionary entries and definitions; frame-ruled in faint ink.; Script: Written in Gothic cursive script.; Decoration: 2 5-line initials in red with brown penwork (f. 1r); 2-line to 4-line initials in red, at the beginning of each new letter section and occasionally for entries in the middle of letter sections, through H (f. 6v-89r); capitals touched with red (f. 1r-89r).; Binding: 15th-century German limp parchment with a rigid leather backplate decorated with chainstitching, ornamental scoring and punching, and leather buttons.; Origin: Written in Germany in the 15th century.; Lawrence J.
