Abstract:
An 1875 copy by C. Hermann Berendt of a collection of Catholic doctrine translated into the Kekchi language. Berendt describes the lost original as being very old, based on the forms of expression. Contents include texts of prayers (Lord's prayer, Ave Maria), the act of contrition, and confession; texts related to the rosary; and lists of the ten commandments, sacraments, articles of faith, and sins and virtues. The last item is a treatise on the first two commandments, with the Kekchi text on the left page and the Spanish text on the right page of each opening. A table of contents follows the last item.
