Pedagogical manuscript compiled by the missionary William P. Buell for Presbyterian minister William M. Atkinson, including material on the Thai alphabet and combinations of Thai consonants and vowels (f. 4r-14r); Matthew 19:16-26 in Thai with spaces between words to assist a beginning reader (f. 18v-21v); and excerpts from Sunthon Phu’s verse travelogue Nirat Phra Bat (f. 46v-52v) and the epic poem Khun Chang Khun Phaen (f. 53v-55v), given as examples of Thai scribbled handwriting (tua wat), referred to by Buell in the manuscript as tua wat and shorthand (f. 45v).
