Notes:
A group of women are carrying baskets of wood on their heads.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description in French and English. The English translation: "The Bedouin woman is not the equal of her husband like her Europeam[sic] sister. She has all the heaviest work to do, and considers herself the servant of the man who marries her while she looks up to him as her lord and master. A hand-mill, a leathern bottle, a sauce-pan, a mat, a loom, a pipe, a tambourine formed of an earthen dish covered on one side with a skin, the husband's weapons, such is the furniture of a Bedouin household." The initials "B+P SC" are printed in the lower right corner.; The photograph was not catalogued by Lazard--it was catalogued at LKCAJS.; Condition: Good
