Folios 19 and 80-82 are later inserts. They do not contain text but appear to have been added at the time the manuscript was bound but before it was paginated.; Script: Written in a Gothic script.; Decoration: Rubricated, with paragraph markers and capitals stroked in red ink; simple red initials and some section headings decorated with grotesque faces (for example, f. 148v).; Binding: 18th-century[?] French[?] morocco over pasteboard, with 19th-century rebacking. Upper and lower covers each have 4 golden circular bosses decorated with quatrefoil. Center of upper cover has gold-stamped crown; center of lower cover has gold-stamped fleur-de-lis. Fleurs-de-lis stamped in gold on each corner of both covers and worked into the spine. Cover pulling away; front hinge completely detached; lower part of spine missing; flyleaves loose.; Origin: Written in France, Départment de Charante[?], in 1384.; Inside the front cover is a pasted-in note in French, dated 1889.; French.
