Collection of a large number of alchemical and medicinal preparations, some with the names of famous men attached, e.g., Glauber (f. 2v, 78v), Paracelsus (f. 9v), Matthiolus (f. 17r), Fernel (f. 23v), Galen (f. 26v), Mynsicht (f. 30v), Hippocrates (f. 46v), Sydenham (f. 79r). Alphabetical index to preparations on f. 122-140. Many of the recipes stem from an "officina Mülhausiana" (f. 27v, today Mulhouse), see the initial "M" and the note "Mülh" throughout. Others are marked "G" or "Gen," probably for Genève.

A printed dealer's description pasted inside upper cover gives date 1784, but the description does not fit the contents of this volume.; Foliation: Paper, 140; 1-53, 56-86, [87-142]; contemporary or near-contemporary foliation in ink, modern foliation in pencil, upper right recto. Text continues on f. 119-113 upside down and in reverse order; f. 87-112, 141-142 blank.; Script: Written in various cursive scripts by several hands.; Decoration: Pen-and-ink illustrations of distallation apparatus "distillatio chymica de cornu cervi" (f. 19r), "distillato chymica de viperis" (f. 48v) and "rectificatio" (f. 50v).; Binding: Contemporary boards.; Origin: Written in Mulhouse or Geneva after 1722.; French and Latin.
