A man kneels outside a gateway to an inner area. The walls of the gateway are covered in hieroglyphics and sculptured carvings. A horse stands in the gateway and, inside the gateway, pieces of columns can be seen.; The title, photographer's name and the date are printed on the matte. The year, photographer's signature and series number (E No. 63) are handwritten on the photograph. A one-page description of the subject follows on the next page.; Condition: Good; Lazard dated the photograph to January-February 1857 and wrote to see the book on Frith, photo no. 32.
