The Dead Sea and its shoreline.; The title, date and photographer's name are printed on the matte. The photographer's signature and series number (P 113) are handwritten on the photograph. A one-page description of the subject follows on the next page.; Condition: Poor; faded and grainy, and the matte has some staining; Lazard dated the photograph to May 1857 and referred to the book on Frith, photo no. 68. He also noted that it was a variant of 830FRI/LC30 ("voie ligne horizon ile dans mer pour rapport à ligne de la mer").
