Photographer's note: The Minha, (afternoon prayer service), at the Seniyora Synagogue is faithfully attended by some of the older Jewish residents of İzmir. The synagogue may take its name from Doña Gracia Nasi, Duke Joseph Nasi's mother-in-law and aunt, who was known as La Señora who endowed many synagogues in the Ottoman lands.
