Carthusian calendar and lectionary, circa 1450, and antiphonary from the last quarter of the 15th century, for use in the Chartreuse Saint-Sixte de Rettel in northeastern France. The dedication of the church (January 8, f. 2r) and the Candelarum notation for the feast of their patron saint Pope Sixtus (August 6, f. 5v) appear in the calendar (Jos Bernaer). The antiphonary has square notation on a 4-line staff, with a custos at the end of each staff. Manuscript has marginalia and additions, also probably Carthusian in origin, from the 16th and 17th centuries, and finding tabs of both simple and complex (knotted) construction.
