Libro spese nella mishmarah delli S[ignori?] Lustro Rovigo, Salamon d'Abr[am] Usigli e Leon Fano.

Abstract:
One year's worth of expenses of a mishmarah (confraternity committed to making visits or night watches before important events) recorded by Lustro Rovigo, Salamon d'Abram Usiglio, and Leon Fano, three members of leading Jewish families of Modena. The first section consists of 243 numbered entries for expenses entered in chronological order between March 1766 and March 1767. This is followed by nine sections representing categories of expenses, such as annual, semiannual, and quarterly salaries (for roles such as cantor and organizer) and ordinary and extraordinary expenses. In each of the expense categories, entries from the first section are listed in numerical order by their entry number. A table of contents at the front lists the sections (f. i recto) and each entry in the first section has had a number added below its entry number corresponding to the folio where that entry appears in an expense category. A note laid into the manuscript dated 13 November 1766 calculates the difference between an amount connected with Leon Fano and the expenses up to that point, through entry 168 (between folios 8 and 9).
