Letter dated 10 September 1818 discusses preserving fence posts with lime. Letter dated 1822 was sent with "Observations of the quality of land when in a state of nature" which discusses ways to recognize good farm land before it has been improved. An item read before the Society in 1823 suggests methods for improving land.
