Manuscript is used for contemplation, study, consultation and recitation and is a mytho-poetic ritual manual presenting instruction for ritually putting ash on the body; presented in the form of a dialogue between the son of the Hindu deity Śiva, Sanatkumāra (known also as Skanda or Kārttikeya), and Kālāgnirudra, a form of Śiva.
