Manuscript is used for contemplation and study and is a Hindu philosophical treatise that compiles and summarizes excerpts from more ancient upaniṣads. It is a foundational work for the Vedānta branch of philosophy and was highly influential on medieval thinkers and beyond. Particular concern is given to the nature of the highest reality or absolute, the brahman.
