This is a manuscript written by Ansel Hill, Esquire, one of the Justices of the Peace for the Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, documenting the voluntary examination and testimony of Eliza Stockton of Silver Lake Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania; she stated that she is a "single woman... on or about the last day of August last past a certain Jacob Taylor of Union Township Broom County N. York laborer had carnal knowledge of her Body whereby this is now big with child...". Signature of Stockton and Hill below testimony; item originally a bifolium, now pressed flat. Written in a cursive script; testimony in thirteen lines.
