Description:
C. Hermann Berendt's copy of Juan Pío Pérez's study of the medical contents of the Books of Chilam Balam, with additional extracts and notes by Berendt. The first two sections of the manuscript are alphabetical lists of plants (p. 1-28) and ailments (p. 29-40), with references to burns, childbirth complications, colic, depression, gangrene, snake bites, stomach-aches, and worms. The later pages of the manuscript (after p. 51) are in much rougher form, with notes pasted in.
