Black-and-white photographic prints primarily depicting the work of Project Home, press conferences, rallies, and openings of shelters and facilities including the Honickman Learning Center and the Comcast Technology Labs, the Stephen Klein Wellness Center, and Kate's Place. Officials and celebrities featured in the photographs include: Governor Ed Rendell, Bill Cunningham, Jon Bon Jovi, President Bill Clinton, Colin Powell, and Mayor Michael A. Nutter. Prints feature candid photographs of people at press conferences; at conferences; at rallies; at facility openings including Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs, the Stephen Klein Wellness Center, and Kate's Place; and living in shelters and residences. Founded in 1989, Project HOME provides services to persons who experience chronic homelessness, respond to the root causes of homelessness by helping to rebuild low-income neighborhoods, and engage in political advocacy to bring about positive public policies for low-income and homeless persons. Harvey Finkle (born March 28, 1934) is a self-taught documentary still photographer who has documented the social, economic, cultural, and political issues in the city of Philadelphia and across the globe. Finkle's work largely focuses on historically marginalized communities, including low income and homeless families, homeless veterans, refugees, immigrants, and disabled people, providing documentation of activism in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and focuses on social injustices in the city, the country, and the world.
