Description:
Consists of two documents of George Washington.; One is an autograph letter dated 20 July 1794 in Philadelphia to "Madam," thanking the lady for a piece of handmade silk she had sent him. There is pencilled notation that the lady was a Mrs. Anderson of Gloucester County, Virginia. Accompanied by two photostatic copies and four xerox copies.; The second item is a bill to Washington from Dr. Robert H. Wade for his medical services at Mt. Vernon in March-April 1799. Bill is for 11 pounds, 3 shillings and ninepence, converted to $25 plus $5 already paid. Signed by Wade on 16 April 1799 indicating receipt of the amount in full from James Anderson, Washington's agent.
