Pamphlet called The Alleged Mortara Kidnapping Case in Bologna Italy, which was an anonymously published defense of the Catholic Church in the case of Edgardo Mortara. Mortara was a Jewish boy whose Catholic nanny baptized him during an illness when she feared he was going to die. He recovered fully, but some years later, when Catholic authorities discovered he had been baptized, the Papal police seized the boy to have him brought up in a special institution used for converting Jews and Muslims; New York, NY
