Play: Hamlet; Notes about Edwin Thomas Booth: A successful American tragic actor. Son of the actor Junius Brutus Booth and brother of the infamous John Wilkes Booth. Booth performed as Sir Giles Overreach in 1857 and acted Hamlet during the 1864-65 season for one hundred nights. Other successful Shakespearean roles included Othello, Romeo, and Macbeth.
