A piece of the mosaic map with land at the left side and an island towards the lower right.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description in French and English. The French description: "Cette partie de la carte, très fortement entamée par la destruction, représente le territoire de la tribu de Juda. On y voit Bethléem-Ephrata, puis Socho; Bethzacharia avec l'église Saint-Zacharie; Morasthi, patrie du prophète Michée, et une partie de la ville d'Eleuthéropolis. Dans la plaine Nicopolis, Jamnia, Accaron, Asdoud ou Azot, et Azot maritime. Dans le fragment entouré de carreaux noirs et blancs, la ville d'Ascalon." The English description: "This part of the map, a much devastated tract, represents the territory of the tribe of Judah. Here, we see Bethlehem-Ephrata, then Sochs; Bethzacharia, with the church of Saint-Zacharias; Morasthi, the birth-place of the prophet Micha, and a part of the town of Eleutheropolis. In the plain, Nicopolis, Jamnia, Accaron, Asdoutd or Azotus and the maritime Azotis. The ruin surrounded by black and white squares is the town of Ascalon."
