Notes:
A two-story building with a stone wall and wrought iron gate. On the roof, at four locations on each side, are statues.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description. The description: "(Malachi, iv: 2-3.)--'But unto you that fear my name, shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.' This prophecy of Malachi was uttered in the year 397 B.C. Since that time the Sun of righteousness has arisen with healing in His wings, and to-day the greatest portion of the globe has felt the influence of His light and warmth. We give as a picture illustrating this fact a view of the residence of Dr. Schliemann in Athens. Under the facilities furnished by Christian civilization, that distinguished man was able to bring to light many of the works of art which belonged to the distant past. It is a strange fact that even the works of art belonging to heathen nations would have been destroyed before this but for the influence and work of Christian nations."; The photograph was not catalogued by Lazard--it was catalogued at LKCAJS.; Condition: Good
