Contains rules for the Academy laid down in 1749, with the founders’ subscription list of that year with 25 signatures: James Hamilton, Thomas Lawrence, William Allen, William Masters, Lloyd Zachary, William Plumsted, Abraham Taylor, Samuel McCall, John Inglis, Charles Willing, Thomas Bond, Tench Francis, William Shippen, Benjamin Franklin, Phineas Bond, William Coleman, Richard Peters, Joshua Maddox, Robert Strettell, Philip Syng, Thomas Leech, Thomas White, Thomas Hopkinson and Thomas Cadwalader. Followed by a contemporary copy of the 1753 Charter and signed oaths of all the College trustees from 1755 to 1776, including three additional Franklin signatures. (The restoration of this key manuscript was the gift of James Paul Hopkinson, A.B. 1945).
