Notes:
Four women and two children sit outside a tent eating from a bowl.; The photograph is in a book with a typed description in French and English. The French description: "Midi. The English translation: "Noon. The husbands, their lords and masters, have finished their meal; it is the women's turn. Crouching down around a great earthen platter which contains boiled rice and minced meat, they each take a handful of this mixture and roll it into balls in their hands. The use of forks, spoons and the serviette is unknown. Rice together with milk, eggs, water-melons, olives and figs, forms the basis of Arab food. Bread is made in round cakes which are baked under the cinders or on iron plates. Wood is rare and animal dung is more commonly used for fuel." The initials "B+P SC" are printed in the lower right corner.; The photograph was not catalogued by Lazard--it was catalogued at LKCAJS.; Condition: Good
